Freedom CC Gallery

a non-profit Toronto gallery supporting local emerging artists

Category Archives: exhibition opening

Freedom CC presents paintings by Ronnie Cote from September 17th to October 10th. The opening reception to celebrate Ronnie’s solo show is happening this Friday, so come party with us and explore his adventurous work!

Ronnie’s paintings are large-scale, richly layered works. He calls his style non-referential, because he is not abstracting anything in particular, but rather building imaginative worlds of detailed line and vivid colour that allow the viewer to delve right in and explore.

Opening reception: Sept 17th, 8:00pm til’ late
live music starts at 10pm
FREEEEEE event, like always!
refreshments will be served

If you’re also looking for something spectacular to do on Thursday night, check out SUMMER ASHES: a multi-media group show, curated by Diana Vandermeulen and Selena L. Lee. Ronnie’s work is featured in this show along with several others, including Maggie Flynn, who will be doing a one-on-one performance that addresses the notion of memory. There are tons of artists in this show – you are bound to find something you absolutely love! Plus, it’s an art show in a house. How intriguing is that?

Opening reception: Sept 16th, 7:30pm til’ late
103A Harrison St. (it’s a house!)

See you later this week!

Our June exhibition opening was a huge success and we thank everyone for coming out to celebrate the work of Gillian Goerz and Wilfred Wong. On June 17th, Freedom quickly filled up with excited supporters of the two emerging artists. Refreshments, laughs, and live music by The Owle Bird, were thoroughly enjoyed. You can check out their works at Freedom until July 11th.

Thank you for your continuing support!
